To address the current conservation stalemate, in April 2002 Civic Exchange convened a roundtable of government and non government experts 6 to discuss possible mechanisms that could be adopted to protect Sha Lo Tung in perpetuity. The paper is a thinkpiece to stimulate discussion on options for the way forward on Sha Lo Tung. The paper incorporates some of the main points that emerged from the discussion but does not necessarily reflect the views of the participants.
